Madison Biotech Aova Forms Venture to Sell Products in China

Aova Technologies Inc. said Monday morning it has partnered with J&Y World Solutions LLC in a joint venture to sell its livestock supplements in China.
The joint venture will be called AG Solutions, the companies said.
Aova, a Madison biotech company, sells naturally produced feed additives that it says are designed to promote healthy guts and superior growth in everything from chickens and cows to pigs and fish. J&Y World Solutions is a Phoenix company that was formed in 2004 to help U.S. firms establish a presence in China.
Aova's products may be able to help an animal feed shortage in China that is the result of growing demands on its meat industry, Jesus Martinez, president and chief executive officer, said in a statement. Aova has an office in Thailand and last year began selling its products in Japan.
Aova uses a patented process to generate a concentrated level of naturally occurring antibodies in laying hens, which gets deposited in their eggs. Aova uses the eggs to make a spray-dried product that growers can add to feed to help their animals avoid intestinal inflammation and grow efficiently.
